The black between the taillights was a great decision. This is the first picture I’ve seen of it since it was masked off for it.

Thats what everyone has been saying. Ive already had it start to peel once, I just patched it. Eventually I’m gonna get a big sheet of vinyl and do it that way. Im going conservatively aggressive with my visual mods. Heres my list:

-Black stripe on tailgate (done)

-Black painted OEM grille (done)

-Black Wheels and 225 tires with white Sidewall lettering

-Dark Headlight Housings, keeping the amber turn signals. I dont like the clear signals.

Thats it. Its gonna be mildly aggressive, but not over the top

Nice list of mods!

I’m anti black wheels, unless they’re steelies, but that’s just me.

Im goin for a “Factory Ford Back In Black” look. Something that is understated enough to look like ford couldve done it. But obviously didnt.

Way to keep it tasteful. May I suggest yellow turns as an alternative to clear or amber? Subtle and unique. For reference:

Really like your truck, is it a stick or auto?

Nice, I’ve known some people with custom Rangers (some not so subtle). Any custom bodywork in the future?

I would do yellow turns, if I could find a set. My headlight housings are fucked anyway, so they have to be replaced. One gets condensation inside it and they both have heat fractures.

Its a 4.0L (160hp + 225lb ft), 5 speed stick and a 3.55 geared LSD on a Ford 8.8 axle (RWD). Its mechanically factory too, well except for my glasspack that exits before the rear tire. Thats not factory

Bodywork? Ya, the inner and outer drivers side bedsides are completely destroyed. But custom body work? Maybe a cowl induction hood, but honestly I doubt I'd even do that

You could use lamin-x or something similar. I have no personal experience with it though. I’ve always used krylon stained glass paint in yellow. One year on my e24 headlights, no chips or wear on the paint.

Ya, but then Id actually have to buy the clear housings, which I may not wanna spend money on. I’ll look into it

I like this Mustang Cobra style hood vs. cowl induction. But yeah bodywork is expensive and a pain. Good luck with all mods!

Wait a sec.... I just realized the 1998-2002 Ranger hood would fit on my truck. This opens up so many options for me

Oh no, I’ve started gears turning, I’m sorry. LOL

Also, the grille comes up higher on ‘98-’01 models.

Downward spiral.

Nah, I dont like the 98-01 nose. But now youre getting me thinking about a 2004-2011 edge nose. You know youre kinda evil.

(I probably wont do a front end swap, I like the look of the 93-97 Ranger)

I’m well aware, I should do a post someday about all my terrible awesome ideas. I have 10-15 builds fully thought out at any given times.

Oh ya, you dont wanna hear my idea about lowering a Jeep XJ, converting it to RWD and trying to make it look like a volvo wagon. Trust me, I'm the same way

Yup, she’s a daily. I bought her in November with exactly 104,200 miles on her and she’s now something barely over 112,100 miles.

Here’s a recent photo:

Sweet. I’d love a pick up. Don’t have space for anything more right now though. Or money really! So I’m stuck going duck hunting in a ‘94 Miata

Mines a 93, so shes needed a few repairs. Mostly age related, its a 22 year old pickup after all. Ive managed to keep costs down by doing mostly everything myself, I’ve only put about a grand into it. I bought it for 3k, and it came with paper records dating back to 94, and within a year of me buying it it had the clutch done (I bought it with 1000 miles on the clutch), brakes, brake lines, diff seal, and much more. The PO put at least 5k into it before he sold it. And he kept amazing records, he logged when he waxed it. I even have the warranty card for the truck (never used), the salesman that sold its business card, and the warranty paperwork from a company that no longer exists for the bed liner. I really snagged a gem. Low miles for the age too!

Okay, I’m a small pickup kind of guy. Like small small. My favorite pickup of all time is the VW Rabbit pickup. I’ve tried to get my hands on a few of those but they’ve all been either too expensive or just rusty shells of something that may have once been a Volkswagen...

I really like little old pickups. They’re just the definition of simplicity and capability and they’re just so awesome.
